Lavender {Lavandula angustifolia} The leaves are intensely aromatic right from the start and said to have a relaxing effect. The flowers are edible and can be used raw in salads, added to stews, used to season cookies, ice cream, candied or even brewed in tea. Lavender pairs especially well with dark chocolate.

Plant: An aromatic favorite. It is also used as a culinary herb; both buds and leaves are used in seasoning. Perennial: It is an evergreen that will produce flowers every summer after its second year of growth. Grows 24" in height. Plant when soil temperature reaches 65oF. Spacing: 12–24" apart. Exposure: Full sun. Well drained soil. Cover seed lightly with soil. Lightly water with gentle sprayer. Germination: should occur in 28–35 days. Regular fertilizing will improve the life of your plant. Works great in containers at least 2 gallons in size.

Forget-Me-Not {Myosotis oblongata} A delicate woodland flower, the symbol of true love, meaning remember me forever. When in bloom, forget-me-nots bear clusters of flowers that unfurl as the buds open. They will bloom the first year. To promote flowering, pinch off the spent flowers.

Flower: dark blue, star shaped. Plant: Bushy annual that grows to 1 foot tall; pinch off spent flowers to promote side branches. Expect blooms the first year. Plant when soil temperature reaches 65° F. Spacing: 10–12" apart. Exposure: full sun to shade. Soil: tolerates good or poor soil. Cover seed lightly with soil and water in with a gentle spray. Seed germinates in 1 to 2 weeks. Regular fertilizing will improve the life of your plant.
